Mouser Electronics Now Stocking Qorvo QPA1027 60-Watt GaN S-Band Power Amplifier

October 8, 2019 - Mouser Electronics, Inc., the industry's leading New Product Introduction (NPI) distributor with the widest selection of semiconductors and electronic components, is now stocking the QPA1027 power amplifier from Qorvo. Engineered for defense and aerospace applications, the QPA1027 provides high power density and power-added efficiency for 2.8 - 3.5 GHz radio frequency (RF)-based designs. Fabricated with Qorvo's production 0.25 µm gallium nitride-on-silicon carbide (GaN-on-SiC) process, this packaged high-power, S-band amplifier simplifies system integration and offers impressive performance in a compact 6.0 × 6.0 × 0.83 mm package.

The Qorvo QPA1027 power amplifier, available from Mouser Electronics, features greater than 60 W of saturated output power and over 22 dB of large-signal gain. The device's power-added efficiency (PAE) is rated at greater than 55 percent, and the RF output power where the device starts to draw positive gate current (PSAT) is measured at 48 dBm. Input return loss for the amplifier is specified at 15 dB, while the output return loss is 7 dB. To simplify system integration, the QPA1027 also supplies two RF ports that are fully matched to 50 ohms, each integrated with DC blocking capacitors.

Qorvo's QPA1027 has an operating temperature of minus 40 to 85 degrees Celsius, and a power dissipation of 80 W (at 85 degrees Celsius). The lead-free, RoHS-compliant amplifier is ideal for RF applications such as S-band radar and satellite communications (satcom).
