Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) MP5490 Fully Integrated Power Management Solution
Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) MP5490 Fully Integrated Power Management Solution is well-suited for the transmitter optical subassembly (TOSA) of optical modules. The MP5490 integrates four high-accuracy current sources (IDx) for distributed feedback (DFB) laser diodes (LDs) and four negative voltage biases for an electro-absorption modulated laser (EML) bias. The MP5490 also provides 4-channel EML current measurements and monitoring photodetector (MPD) current measurements to simplify the design.The integrated six channels of high-accuracy and low-temperature coefficient analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) can read the external current, voltage, and temperature to save microcontroller (MCU) resources. All output rails can be adjusted via the I2C bus or preset via the multi-page, one-time programmable (MOTP) memory. The Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) MP5490 requires minimal external components and is available in a space-saving WLCSP-36 (3mm x 4.25mm) package.
