Allegro MicroSystems A17803 High-Speed Interface Integrated Circuits (ICs) are high-speed inductive position-sensor interface ICs designed to measure the rotational angle of metallic targets accurately. The ICs deliver position data through digital communication interfaces. Optimized for demanding automotive and industrial applications such as traction motors, electric power steering (EPS) motors, and transmission actuators, the devices combine a transmitting-coil driver, dual receiving inputs, advanced signal demodulation, and digital processing. The A17803 devices support up to 16-bit resolution at rotational speeds of up to 250,000 rpm, enabling precise and responsive motor position sensing in high-speed environments.

The A17803 incorporates sophisticated compensation and signal-conditioning algorithms, including offset correction, gain adjustment, harmonic compensation, and speed-based angle prediction to reduce sensing latency. These Allegro MicroSystems ICs offer a broad range of output interfaces, including SPI, SENT, motorSENT, PWM, and ABI, giving designers flexibility across different system architectures. In addition, the devices are AEC-Q100 Grade 0 qualified and developed as ASIL C(D) Safety Elements out of Context (SEooC) when used in accordance with the safety manual. These ICs are well-suited for safety-critical automotive applications that require robust, high-precision position sensing.
